Experimental ink painting
Li Chevalier is among the prominent figures of a new artistic current born in China, < experimental ink painting> The American University Virginia CommonWealth University of Art devoted a first show to her experimental ink paintings back in 2004, launching what was to become the signature style of the artist. During her stay at the London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, her experimental ink paintings was displayed at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer exhibition in 2007; it drew the attention of Sir Michael Bichard, then President of the University of London, who became one of her first English collectors. Since 2007 the experimental ink of li Chevalier has entered the permanent collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts of China, the China National Opera, and the Embassy of France in China.
